We met Paul Chevalier in Paris just after he finished this build. It’s always exciting to meet a new rider in the street! As soon as we started talking fixed gear, we knew we were on the same wavelength. We wanted to feature his bike and find out what made it work.

“The crankset stiffness and the lightweight 3-spokes provide a really appreciable efficiency to each pedal stroke.”
Paul
The front end is sharp and light: the carbon handlebar, stem and three-spoke wheel give the build its character. Paul also appreciated how it handled vibration.
His main drawback was the 170 mm Omnium cranks. Combined with the front-end geometry, they caused slight overlap. How much that matters depends on your riding, but it deserves attention if you want to do tricks.
We went to Place de la République in Paris at sunset for these shots. The water mirror made for some lovely reflections.
Caleido in its natural habitat
As the sun went down, we moved to a nearby street and found those wonderfully kitsch, bright lights. A fitting backdrop for the Caleido.

At the time, Paul used the bike every day, rode with @okami.riding on Thursdays, and liked taking it out for a fast ride. A build made for the way he rode.
